  4. Germany’s Small Investor Protection Act Doesn’t Curb Crowdfunding

teaserImage The Small Investor Protection Act has had no negative impact on crowdfunding in Germany. This is the key finding of a new study conducted by the Ifo Institute together with external economists and legal experts on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of Finance. Critics had feared that the new law would compromise crowdfunding and hamper social and non-profit projects. In reality, however, hardly any social and non-profit projects are regulated by the law, which is why the legal exemption clauses for such projects are of little relevance. Details

  5. Essays on International Trade and the Gains from Globalization

Retirement at 63 Impacts Majority of Companies

The survey results show that over half of the companies surveyed are already affected by retirement at 63, with 52% of companies reporting employees taking early retirement. More companies were affected in manufacturing (62%) than in distribution (53%) and the service sector (44%). Ifo Business Climate Index for Saxony Declines Again

Mar 7, 2017: The Ifo Business Climate for trade and industry in the Free State of Saxony cooled down marginally in February. Feb 20, 2017: The Ifo Export Climate rose to 0.72 points in January 2017 from 0.59 index points in December 2016. The improvement in the export climate was due to higher corporate and consumer confidence abroad. Price competiveness in the German economy, by contrast, had a slightly dampening effect. Details
